The Positions:

We are currently searching for a Public Relations Coordinator. Responsibilities include:

  • Attending a 1-hour weekly board meeting
  • Regularly updating Pandemic social media platforms (primarily Facebook, Twitter) amounting to approximately 5 hours of work per week
  • Expanding Pandemic’s social media base and following
  • Assisting in the organization and promotion of Pandemic events, especially those in collaboration

Writer responsibilities include:

  • Attending periodic meetings with the writing team, organized by the Head Writer
  • Writing (minimum) 1 article per month (approximately 1000-2500 words)
  • Meeting the assigned deadlines
  • Generating original article ideas
  • Striving to meet the standard and quality expected from Pandemic staff
  • Work amounts to an average of 15 hours per month

Note: article topics may be decided by the respective writer, or may be assigned by the Head Writer.

Editor responsibilities include:

  • Attending periodic meetings with the editing team, organized by the Head Editor
  • Independent editing work, including editing for grammar, syntax, diction, style, voice fact-checking, etc.
  • Meeting the assigned deadlines
  • Striving to meet the standard and quality expected from Pandemic staff
  • Work amounts to an average of 10-12 hours per month

Note: editors are also welcome and encouraged to contribute their own articles whenever their hearts so desire, but it is not required.

Please to note that work for Pandemic operates on a volunteer basis.
